Nord Heks history as est as the current owners knowledge is that she was commissioned by a Norwegian engineer in 1980 and was built in the Colvic yard in Essex, England over a three year period and launched in 1983. G.L.Watson the designer and namesake of the model also designed King George's legendary yacht "Britania" . The design company is still in business designing life boats but the Colvic yard closed a few years ago. The boat was originally named "Nord Heks" after a legendary Viking witch, meaning North Witch. The original owners sailed her through the canals of Holland and France, the Baltic, Mediterranean and Aegean seas then to the Canary Islands and across the Atlantic for a few years in the Caribbean eventually settling in Victoria, B.C.

Nord Heks was then sold and moved to Anacortes, WA where her new owner replaced the original engine with a new John Deere Marine Diesel and Ziff Drive in 2009. The engine now has 530 Hours time in service with recent oil and coolant change. It burns about one gallon per hour underway at 6-7 knots without sail assist. The electronics were also upgraded with Lorance GPS/Radar and dual fathometers. When the current owner acquired the boat he replaced the roller Furling with a new Swedish Furlex roller furling plus new halyards & sheet lines. They also installed a Wallace Diesel furnace, Life Line Batteries, LED lights, 12 volt oil change system, engine room heater, new cook ware, clocks and overhauled the wet compass.

This boat comes fully equipped with spares for every pump, seal, or o-ring plus spare vhf radio, auto pilot parts and lots of miscellaneous stuff, even the fuel tanks are full! There is also a Brig hard bottom inflatable dinghy with 4hp Yamaha outboard motor.

Must see!!
